Spyridon Fokas-Kosmetatos (1884-1978) He was born in Argostoli. He was a political scientist and economist. From 1934 to 1964 he served as Director of the Press Office of the Greek Embassy in Paris. During the Occupation he developed a great activity, transmitting information through Vichy to the Greek Government abroad. He wrote many economic and political articles in French and English journals and studies on the political history of Greece.
Nikolaos Fokas-Kosmetatos (1900-1982) He was born in Argostoli. He studied law in Geneva. He lived in London, where he was engaged in economic and banking studies. He then served as a senior executive at the Bank of Greece. He took part in various governmental and banking missions abroad. During his university studies in Geneva he submitted a study on the activities of Ioannis Kapodistrias before his return to Greece. After leaving the Bank's service he engaged in historical studies, and wrote and published a treatise on the Castle of St. George of Kefalonia (1966).
Kosmetos Fokas-Kosmetatos (1891-1969) He was born in Argostoli. He studied engineering and agronomy in Montpellier, France and completed his agricultural and economic studies in London. From 1928 until his death, he was a consultant to the Bank of Greece, except during the period of occupation, when he was dismissed by the Germans. He also served as an adviser to several public limited companies.
