Environmental Games at the Kefalonia Botanical Garden 

• Around the garden in 10 games (Kindergartens)
• With Nature as a teacher (Primary schools) 

The aim of the activities is for children to be able to : 

• Discover the complex world of plants through play and empirical activities 
• To learn in a fun way about the importance of plants and animals for humans and their future 
• Develop a love and respect for the natural environment 
• Adopt a responsible attitude towards the natural environment and its conservation 
• To get in touch with the Cephalonian flora 

The educational material used is designed in such a way that the knowledge at the end of the visit is the product of the children's personal experience. 

The environmental activities, apart from the wide variety of topics, which allows two and three visits of each class to the Botanical Garden in one year, are based on the quick change (all last fifteen minutes) and flexibility - they can be used as a micro project independent of the curriculum, but they can also work alongside school lessons (Environmental Studies, Language, Aesthetic Education).
