In 2006, a specialised research project was carried out under the responsibility of Mrs. Parharidou and the taxonomist Dr. Nikolaos Krigas. The project concerned the identification of the species growing within the environment of the BKK. The collected plants were the yeast for the creation of the plant library. Today the collection of dried plants is kept in a special area and new taxa are added every year.
